Saturday Street Fests

After the long, crazy and rainy week we’ve had in Philly, it’s time to hit the streets for some food, drinks and fun! If you’re looking for some outdoor Springtime in the city, just take your pick from either of the following two or visit both!

South Street Headhouse District brings us one of the largest and newest outdoor festivals…South Street Spring Fest. With eight blocks of food, drinks and entertainment, thousands of people will be enjoying samples from our favorite restaurants and bars, along with music, art, and free family fun…featuring 40 bands, 30 restaurants, 40 vendors, and lots more! We recently made it over to the media preview party of the big event which was held at participating restaurant Brauhaus Schmitz. They will be hosting the second annual German Maifest with German beers, dancers and even a May pole. For the shoppers, forty artists, crafters and retail vendors will be featuring some of their best merchandise. The Heroes Zone will salute both public service and hometown heroes. Children will be able to enjoy FREE family fun in the Kids Zone with storytelling, arts, crafts, music and performances. These are just some of the events that will be going on tomorrow. There will be a little something for everyone..South Street Style! The Festival is FREE and open to the public (ages 21 and up with identification to drink). For more info and to see the full schedule and list of all the participants visit www.southstreet.com and follow them on Twitter. You can also visit the Aversa PR & Events Website. Don’t forget to share your experience tomorrow on social media using hashtag #SouthStFest.

Rittenhouse Row is a non-profit organization that promotes the uptown, Rittenhouse Square area of Center City, as Philadelphia’s Five Star Location for shopping, dining, working, living, and visiting. The Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival brings together more than 50, 000 people each year to Walnut Street from Broad to 19thStreets. The upscale festival features food, drinks, fashion, entertainment, and family fun, with over 100 booths. This free event is held every year to welcome the public to experience the best cuisine Rittenhouse has to offer. Among them are restaurants from two of our favorites, Garces Group and STARR Restaurants. You will also find some Rittenhouse Row member food trucks, including our favorite – The Cow and the Curd. New for this year, at 19th and Walnut, The Dandelion will host a Beer Garden. There will be Spring Cocktail Tastings from Captain Morgan White Rum and Smirnoff Sorbet Light Pineapple Coconut. Spring fashion and beauty booths from local favorites will present demos and items for sale. You will also find an Infinity Lounge, photo booth, a special presentation from the Garces Group, and even a Silent Disco area.  Kids will be treated to cotton candy, giveaways and interactive games, and a KYW Newsradio’s Kidcasting Booth. Penn Medicine is sponsoring The Be Well Philly Health Zone featuring fitness demos and health screenings. Live musical entertainment from Norma Michaels Entertainment will be featured on the 1500 block. All this and so much more…you don’t want to miss the flavors and style of Rittenhouse Row.  For more info visit www.rittenhouserow.org and follow them on Twitter.
