This past month we attended two of the biggest Wine & Food Festivals in our area. On Saturday, May 10th, we got to experience the 2014 Philadelphia Wine & Food Festival at its new location – The famous Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum. While the venue added a unique and fun element to the event, capacity was beyond comfortable limits and the humid, rainy weather was borderline unbearable. Wine to the rescue!
This year, on the heels of the debut of our very own line of wine-inspired fashion and accessories, we were proud to donate a gift basket of Vino & Vintage goodies to the festival’s Silent Auction benefiting the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. We are happy to announce it sold!!! A big thanks to the buyer for choosing our basket to help support such an important cause. Another big thank you to Penns Woods Winery for donating a bottle of their 2012 Proprietor Reserve along with one of their bottle stoppers.
The basket and our merchandise was a big hit that night. We wore our shirts and received so many compliments. It was another epic night of fun and wine, but we are crossing our fingers that they take the festival back to Lincoln Financial next year! 😉
On Saturday, May 17th we attended the 2014 MidAtlantic Wine + Food Festival™ in Wilmington, Delaware. This big event takes place over the course of four days at several locations around the Brandywine Valley and central and coastal Delaware. This year was a different experience for us. This year we were given the opportunity to feature our Vino & Vintage “Winette” Collection at the new Festival Bazaar at the Capital One Festival Marketplace. We set up shop in one of the halls at the DoubleTree Hotel in Wilmington and were so excited to experience things on the other side of the table. 😉 Once again we received so many compliments and made our first sales as vendors! The biggest highlight of our day, however, was getting complimented by Carla Facciolo from the 1st season of Mob Wives who was there promoting her very own line of wines. Even better, she so graciously autographed one of our Cabernet Queen shirts….perfect fit for her. 😉
Aside from the Bazaar, we were fortunate to make it over to the “Tasting with the Pros” event for a bit and try some amazing wines, though the food pairings weren’t totally up our alley. That evening we were excited to attend the exclusive Visa Signature Gala Winemaker’s Dinner & News Journal Live Wine Auction. We proudly donated another “Winette Basket” to the silent auction and enjoyed some wine and food pairings. Special thanks to the lucky bidder and, once again, a big thanks to Penns Woods Winery for yet another generous donation.
Stay tuned as we add our line of wine glasses, wine charms, jewelry and more! Special Bachelorette and Bridal Party Baskets coming soon too…Cheers!
